Philip Minton Biography

Philip a Bond Street stylist during the swinging 60’s has trained and worked along side some of the cream of British hairdressers. He opened his first hair salon at twenty-two. After over 30 years of building up the Kameo salon group he opened an innovative salon called K2, in the Darwin Shopping Centre Shrewsbury, which daughter Jo Stephens successfully manages and has won awards for. He has had salons all over the midlands and north west.

Philip is a family man who has an enthusiastic and passionate attitude towards hairdressing. Philip believes that the best asset to any salon are the staff, so employee development is a top priority. As well as receiving on-site training, all his staff are regularly sent on ‘excellent’ training courses at the Academy in London / Manchester.

All of Philips team are trained to the same high standard and are kept up to date with the most modern techniques and styles. Philip encourages each stylist to be individual and creative in their own right.

Philip and his team of stylists pamper clients from the moment they step into the salon until they leave, and whether you book in for a consultation, colour or re-style just one stylist will be involved throughout. K2 launched the K2 website in 2007 which has greatly improved communication not only with existing, but also with potential clients. These days busy lifestyles often mean it is far easier to make an appointment online or send us a enquiry via e-mail. This service is easy to use and available to everyone 24 /7. The blog has been particularly successful as it has enabled current and potential customers to see what our stylists and trainees are achieving. These online diaries give K2 an excellent opportunity to post current photographs and videos. This has greatly enhanced communication with clients as K2 can receive instant feedback.

Philip and his team regularly style hair for fashion shows, photo shoots and specialise in doing creative styles for weddings and other special occasions. Philip and his team regularly get involved in local & national charity events, raising money through hair demanstrations and funky fashion shows (often showcasing young local up and coming fashion designers).
