"A Young hairdresser beat off stiff competition to take part in a national hairdresser of the year challenge at the prestigious Clothes Show Live. A stylist who works at K2 the Salon in the Darwin Centre, appeared at the annual show in Birmingham to vie for the accolade and said the experience was fantastic. "I’ve only been doing hairdressing for a year and was really pleased to be nominated for the title. We had to recreate a look on stage and one of the judges was Jamie Stevens, the celebrity hairdresser of the year. Unfortunately I didn’t win but the experience was great and I hope to do better next year,” she added. "It is the third year running that the salon has entered succesfully someone in this competition." Shrewsbury Chronicle

"Firms Promote businesses together
Two Shrewsbury businesses are to launch a campaign to provide incentives and unique offers to customers.
Eden Lounge nightclub in castle Foregate, and K2 The Salon in the Darwin Shopping Centre, will be launching a range of loyalty cards, drinks & beauty treatment vouchers at the start of September.
The promotion will also see regular competitions and prize draws as well as a series of events including charity fashion shows. Jo Stephens, Director and Salon manager at K2 THE SALON, said they were excited to be teaming up with another Shrewsbury business to work together and boost sales.
She said: “this is the first time we have embarked on this sort of venture and we’re quite excited by the prospect. “All the staff at the salon have enjoyed evenings out at Eden so I can confidently recommend the club to clients.
“Having previously worked on fashion shows and in conjunction with either a local clothes store or designer, Eden would provide the venue and K2thesalon would be able to do hair styling for a series of charity fundraising events throughout the year.”
“we are looking forward to a long affiliation with Eden.”
Stelios Kakkindiris, owner of Eden said: “ Affiliate marketing is an effective way of promoting businesses that complement each other.”
